Lawfare: A form of asymmetric warfare that uses, more properly mis-uses, domestic or foreign laws as a weapon against enemies. 

In America, Lawfare has been raised to an art form by the Political Class and their tools in the Lawyer Class.  The Corporate Class uses Lawfare very, very effectively.  This is not a Liberal versus Conservative issue, as nearly the entire Political Class is guilty of Lawfare to achieve their ends. 

A classic example is showcased by David Codrea at War on Guns.  He provides the link to the Campaign for Liberty site here.  When laws are used as weapons to advance and secure a political agenda in contravention to Liberty and the Founding Principles of the republic, every American is injured. 

For a moment let us not only view Paul Copeland as an academic example of what is going wrong in our land.  He is an American who will be headed to prison and forever banned the use of arms.  His life will never be the same.  His marriage may not survive.  His kids may become hungry as his income is lost.  His name will be forever tainted in polite society. 

Why?  For a political agenda.  For a career agenda possessed by those who brought this case.  Because those on his jury mistake law for justice and are too daft to see the reality before them.  Even if every claim against Mr. Copeland is illegal, and he knowingly sold a firearm to an illegal, is there a single Patriot who believes that the men who drafted the Second Amendment would agree that this is a crime?

Either we believe that men have an innate right to bear arms, not to be infringed, or we do not.  ...shall not be infringed... means that no ifs, ands, buts or wherefores apply.  Period.  No qualifiers.

Paul Copeland is a political prisoner and proof that America has become a Police State.  There are many, many like him.  While many will wail against this case and its outcome, Americans are too comfortable to do anything about it.  I doubt any militia will break him out, or march on the Federal Courthouse locked & loaded on his behalf. 

Hell, they won't even add a few bucks to his commissary account...

Where are the Oath Keepers?  Are any of your members even tangentially associated with this case?

Every Patriot in America should read the book The Tyranny of Good Intentions: How Prosecutors and Bureaucrats Are Trampling the Constitution in the Name of Justice  written by Paul Craig Roberts.  Many in the III Community, Tea Party crowd, the RTC folks and others in that large collection of Americans who respect the Founding Principles of the republic fail to recognize the pervasive mis-use of law as a political weapon.  

The gulf between Thomas Jefferson's concept of Liberty and the proper place for laws in our republic and the state that exists today is unconscionable.  Any time you hear a Law & Order Republican spout the ...he broke the law... mantra as justification for dismissing a player from the discourse in America you must reflexively take issue and understand that you are likely in the presence of an enemy of Liberty. 

The Stamp Act was legal.  Just ask the King.

Obamacare is legal.  Just ask...

The Boston Tea Party was treasonous.  Just ask the King.

To burn a tyrannical Governor from his home is Treason.

To break from the King is Treason.

Moral relativity has boundaries.  Of course, that in itself is an oxymoron.  Liberty from the perspective of the King is different from the perspective held by Mister Jefferson.  But right and wrong do exist.

In America today we talk a good game about morality and ethics and freedom.  Yet in the face of tyranny we do nothing to stop it.  We talk.  We grow angry.  But we are too comfortable in our chains to stand up and do anything tangible for Mr. Copeland...today. 

We talk big and tough about tomorrow...

Until then, Mr. Copeland, buy as much mackerel at the commissary as you can, and salmon if you can afford it.

Both are cash in the prison system.

How is that not only a degree or two removed from a pistol to the head? We are undeniably heading toward the same tyrannies known to Russians, Germans, and the Chinese.  It starts with Liberalism, advances to Socialism, and ends with Fascism, Communism, or some other tyranny…and death.

Excerpt: We have a culture of people whose first response to a physical threat is to dial 911, or worse, a lawyer.  We have a nation of people who will dump hot coffee on themselves, then sue the restaurant – and win!  We have a nation of educators who suspend children for drawing a picture of a handgun or for bringing a Boy Scout knife-and-fork kit to show and tell! 

We have a nation of people so removed from the food chain that many would starve to death if the local supermarket closed.  We have a nation of people who cannot truly grasp the hardships faced by most of the people in the world every day, and as a result we have a nation of people who have lost fundamental common sense.

Excerpt: The Bill of Rights articulates the natural rights of man, rights that are not bestowed by government, but rights that are innately ours as human beings.  These rights may not be taken from us.  These rights were written in plain language so that no clever interpretation and manipulation of the intent was possible.  These rights may not be restricted, narrowed, or infringed.  Any attempt to do so is a violation of the relationship between Man and Creator. 

Every narrowing, restriction, infringement, and clever interpretation imposed upon us in the years since our Constitution was ratified is simply a violation of our natural rights.

We hold that every violation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights by those in Government is an act of Treason, as these violations are unjust, undermining the fundamental foundations of our republic, breaking the pact between citizen and government, and desecrating the relationship between Man and Creator.  Any man or woman who enforces these unconstitutional laws on behalf of government is a treasonous soul and an enemy of Liberty and humanity.

Jus ad bellum: There is a moral obligation on the part of any Patriot who decides to engage in violence, before you cross the Rubicon and plunge yourself and perhaps your republic into the horrors of civil war.  Killing an enemy is always just and proper in the face of an existential threat.  Whether the Liberal comes to your home to kill you, or sends armed Government thugs to kill you, or to interfere with your ability to provide for your family, he poses the same existential threat to you and your family as does the liberal who pulled that lever in the voting booth.  Dead is dead, whether by violence or poverty and starvation caused by Liberal policies, and both are morally sound justifications for war.
